A Family Recovers Stolen Cargo Bike in Copenhagen with Help from Copenhagen Trackers

In the early hours of a typical Monday morning, a family's routine in Copenhagen was disrupted when they discovered their electric cargo bike was missing. The bike, a Black Iron Horse model leased from JOOLL, was an essential part of their daily routine, used to transport their son to kindergarten. Despite being parked among several other cargo bikes, theirs was the only one stolen—likely due to its higher value and new condition.

Fortunately, the bike was equipped with one of Copenhagen Trackers’ GPS devices. Immediately after discovering the theft, the family turned to the Copenhagen Trackers mobile app, where they were able to see the bike’s updated location, showing it parked a few kilometers away on a small street near private homes. They quickly contacted the police and set out to recover the bike.

When they arrived at the location, they found their bike locked together with another stolen cargo bike. The thieves had cut through the bike’s wheel lock and metal chain lock, likely planning to return later to collect both bikes, along with others that may have been stolen by the same thieves. Thanks to Copenhagen Trackers and the prompt response from the police, both bikes were successfully recovered.

This incident highlights the importance of reliable technology in protecting valuable assets. The family credits the Copenhagen Trackers service for making the recovery possible: “Copenhagen Trackers actually helped us get our bike back; without it, there would be no way to ever find it. Thanks for a great product and service!”

Copenhagen Trackers continues to support bike owners across the city by offering an effective solution to the persistent issue of bike theft. This family’s experience serves as a reminder of the peace of mind that comes with having a GPS tracker and how it can make all the difference in recovering stolen property.
