Original Cobblestone GPS Tracker — Discontinued

The original Cobblestone relies on 2G mobile networks to send location updates. As operators phase out these networks, coverage for 2G devices is becoming more limited. We have therefore discontinued the original model and introduced Cobblestone 2.0 with 4G connectivity.

Discontinuation does not automatically stop your tracker from working. It may continue sending location updates while it has battery power and access to a compatible 2G network. Availability depends on the country, local network coverage and the networks accessible to your tracker.

Without a compatible 2G connection, the original Cobblestone cannot send new location updates to the CPH Trackers app. GPS positioning and mobile connectivity serve different purposes: receiving a satellite position does not enable the tracker to transmit it without a mobile network connection.

No. The original Cobblestone uses 2G hardware. A software update or battery replacement cannot convert it into a 4G tracker. To use 4G connectivity, you will need a newer device, such as Cobblestone 2.0.

Cobblestone 2.0 is the next generation of our Cobblestone GPS tracker. It uses 4G LTE-M and NB-IoT connectivity and runs on three standard, user-replaceable AA batteries. Standard tracking requires no subscription.

If your tracker has stopped updating, or you are unsure whether it can still connect where you use it, contact our support team. We can help investigate the issue and advise on your options.
